Anteneh Mitiku (Antonio), the founder and managing director of Zagwe Tour and Car Rental, was born and raised in the historic town of Lalibela, where he witnessed first-hand the influx of visitors eager to explore Ethiopia’s rich cultural and historical heritage. Inspired by his surroundings, he developed a deep passion for tourism and storytelling from an early age. Determined to turn his passion into a career, he pursued studies in history and tourism, eventually becoming one of Ethiopia’s most well-known and respected guides. However, his vision extended far beyond guiding—he aspired to contribute to Ethiopia’s tourism industry on a larger scale by providing exceptional travel experiences that showcase the country's diverse attractions. With this ambition, he founded Zagwe Ethiopia Tour and Car Rental in 2001, with the goal of offering world-class tourism and transportation services. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence, he has transformed Zagwe into one of Ethiopia’s leading tour and car rental companies, serving international travellers, businesses, and organizations with reliable, customized, and high-quality services.
