Born in Lalibela, Ayalew grew up seeing tourists flock to his hometown. This inspired him to be a tour guide and tour operator. He joined Addis Ababa University to study and get his degree in Sociology and social anthropology. He also gets a diploma in tour guiding and tour operation from Lalibela TVET collage. He worked for different tour Ethiopian tour operators. It has been nearly 11 years since he joined Zagwe Ethiopia Tour.
